This photo was one of the first things I thought of when I read about Coach Stew’s passing. This is one of my favorite Mountaineer memories ever. Regardless of how your career as coach ended, you were always a class act in my mind. You were an incredible man and did a lot for the kids you coached and the state you loved. You will be missed.

Teacher asks her class if Marshall is their favorite football team. The whole class says yes, except for Little Jimmy. “What’s your favorite football team Jimmy?” Jimmy says, “WV Mountaineers!!” The teacher asks, “Well, why is that?” Jimmy says, “Well, my dad is a Mountaineer fan, my mom is a Mountaineer fan, I guess that makes me a Mountaineer fan.” The angry teacher says, “If your dad was a moron and your mom was an idiot what would that make you?” “Well, that would make me a Marshall fan.”
